The 65th Anniversary of the Day of Migration | October 17, 1961 – October 17, 2026 Under the slogan: “From the Depths of Memory to the Horizons of the Future” On October 17, 2026, the University of Continuing Education Didouche Mourad commemorates the 65th anniversary of the Day of Migration, honoring the souls of the martyrs of the October 17, 1961, massacres and remembering the sacrifices of Algerians who took to the streets of Paris in peaceful demonstrations to defend the dignity of their homeland and the Algerian people’s right to freedom and independence. This enduring national commemoration offers an opportunity to reflect on the glorious chapters of Algeria’s history, remember the sacrifices made by its people both at home and abroad, and instill the values of loyalty to the national memory in younger generations, ensuring that the sacrifices of the martyrs remain a beacon of inspiration and determination as we work to build Algeria’s future.
