Self-assessment

Establishing a national quality-assurance system in higher education is a project led by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, for which an official body — the “Commission for Establishing a Quality Assurance System” — was created. It involves institutions by appointing quality-assurance cells and officers who act as a link between their institutions and the ministry's bodies.

The current stage is the adoption of the “national reference framework,” which defines the evaluation criteria to be used, together with the creation of the external evaluation body tasked with auditing the self-assessments carried out across universities.

The cell's journey

  1. 2012

Appointment of the quality-assurance officer from October 2012, and participation in the ministerial body's activities (training sessions, seminars).

  2. 2014

Creation of the quality-assurance cell and a study day in June, which produced an action plan specific to the university focused on three areas: training, governance, and relations with the socio-economic environment.

  3. 2017 – 2018

Reform of the university's missions under ministerial decree No. 1022 (October 2017) and the launch of self-assessment, concluded with a final report in May 2018 officially sent to the ministerial commission.

  4. 2019

Laying the foundations of the “institutional project” based on the new missions, to properly embed the e-learning model.

The cell's missions

  • Lead the work of establishing a quality framework and oversee the evaluation of the institution's activities.
  • Maintain documentary monitoring of national and international publications on quality assurance.
  • Work toward the success of the university's quality-assurance initiatives.
  • Develop internal and external communication, take part in events, and publish in specialized journals.
  • Supervise internal training in the field of quality assurance.

Evaluation areas

Tasks are divided among the cell's members according to the university's areas of activity, following the nationally adopted methodology:
