Clarification Regarding Attendance at In-Person Sessions

Following concerns raised by some students who registered for distance learning but subsequently found themselves required to attend in-person sessions, the University would like to clarify the following: · The mode of study established under the University’s regulations is hybrid learning (in-person and distance learning), not 100% distance learning. · In-person sessions are extremely important for students, as they function as flipped classrooms and constitute one of the core components of the educational process at the University of Continuing Education (UFC). Without these sessions, the training would be incomplete, potentially having a significant impact on students’ acquisition of the required academic competencies. · For the past three years, the University has been working to strengthen the reputation of its degrees and enhance the standing of its graduates by combining in-person and distance learning. This approach helps bridge the gap traditionally associated with the University’s previous mode of education. The University has made significant progress in this regard through the issuance of Instruction No. 94, which allows our bachelor’s degree holders to pursue master’s studies at other universities and enables master’s degree holders from our University to sit for doctoral entrance examinations at our institution. This also applies to competitive examinations for admission to the legal professions, including the bar and the judiciary, as well as notarial professions, among others. One recurring question has always concerned the in-person sessions required under the program. Accordingly, it is the responsibility of all stakeholders, particularly students, to preserve these achievements and build upon them through greater commitment and diligence. This will help strengthen the value of the University’s degrees and ensure that its graduates possess competencies equivalent to, or exceeding, those of graduates from other universities. · Evening classes are provided for under the ministerial order governing registration and orientation, as well as the University’s statutes. This is also the schedule adopted by most universities this academic year, with two main objectives: 1. Shared use of facilities. 2. Revitalizing campus life. However, whenever daytime facilities are available, the University has no objection to scheduling classes during the day, in coordination with the host university where the center is located. · Scheduling in-person sessions in the evening allows students to benefit from university transportation in the same way as students at other universities whose activities extend until 10:00 p.m. Each center independently establishes its teaching schedule according to the availability of educational facilities, following coordination with the host university where the center is located.
