11 October 2026

University of Continuing Education – Didouche Mourad Media and Communications Unit As part of the observance of Pink October and efforts to promote a culture of prevention and early detection of breast cancer, the University of Continuing Education – Didouche Mourad is participating in awareness and educational campaigns across several of its university centers nationwide. These initiatives aim to raise health awareness and foster a culture of prevention within the university community. In this context, the El Oued Center organized an awareness seminar on Saturday, October 10, 2026, in coordination with the Specialized Hospital for Cancer Treatment in El Oued. The seminar was led by two specialists in oncology and mental health and attended by healthcare professionals, with notable participation from female students. The event featured medical explanations and guidance on the importance of early detection, preventive measures, and the role of regular screenings in improving treatment outcomes. It also provided an opportunity for attendees to ask questions and receive answers. The event concluded with a tribute to the medical team and the hospital in recognition of their contributions to the success of this initiative. The Tissemsilt Center also organized an awareness campaign for female students, attended by Dr. Malika Hamza, who provided medical information and guidance on the importance of regular screening, recognizing warning signs, and consulting a doctor whenever symptoms arise that require medical follow-up. Meanwhile, the Djelfa Center, in coordination with Ziane Achour University in Djelfa, organized an awareness campaign on breast cancer to promote understanding of the importance of early detection and regular medical examinations, encourage women to take care of their health, and adopt preventive health practices. These activities form part of the University of Continuing Education’s efforts to strengthen its engagement with the health and social sectors and consolidate cooperation with healthcare and higher education institutions. These efforts contribute to promoting health awareness and fostering values of responsibility, solidarity, and social awareness. These initiatives also highlight the importance of continuing awareness campaigns across the university’s various centers, positioning the university as a space for sharing knowledge, promoting prevention, and contributing to the protection of women’s health. Pink October… Awareness for Prevention, Hope for Life. Early detection is a step toward treatment, and awareness is the foundation of protection.
