In the presence of the university rector, Dr. Yahya Jafari, the Minister of Youth, Mustafa Haidawi, presided over the official conclusion of the Young Journalists Forum yesterday evening, Wednesday, December 11, 2024. The forum was organized by the Media and Communication Committee over two full days at the Continuing Education University, focusing on « The Role of Media in Enhancing Intellectual Security Among Algerian Youth in the Context of New Open-Source and Multi-Media Media. »

    The event was attended by the High Commissioner for Digitization, Ms. Maryam Ben Mouloud, the director of Algiers University 3, representatives from various ministerial sectors and official bodies, prominent media figures, and over 150 participants.

    In his speech on the occasion, Mr. Mustafa Haidawi emphasized that this forum is part of the annual council program, particularly given the high percentage of youth using digital media in Algeria, which can influence their thoughts, potentially impacting their contribution to national development paths negatively. He highlighted the importance and role of media in enhancing and safeguarding the intellectual security of youth in the context of new media.

    The forum’s activities concluded with the reading of the final statement, which included several important recommendations, the most notable of which was the continuation of this initiative through the establishment of a network for young journalists.

    The University of Continuous Education, due to its possession of a distinguished audiovisual center, always remains at the service of youth, especially students who wish to develop their media interests and skills in new media.
