On December 30, 2024, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Kamal Badari, supervised the inauguration of the electronic chip design lab at the Advanced Technologies Development Center in Baba Hassan. This lab, equipped with multiple technologies including 65-nanometer technology, is the first of its kind nationally. It will enable Algeria to master the design and manufacturing of electronic chips by early April 2025.

The center has also scheduled the design of 13-nanometer chips, which will carry biometric card technology, in 2025.

   During the event, the business incubator was inspected. This incubator will support the creation of 24 start-ups in advanced technologies throughout 2025.

The minister also had the opportunity to review various technological models developed by the center.

   This economic and commercial orientation of the center is expected to create 1,000 jobs for university graduates by 2027.
