Signing of an Agreement Between the University of Continuous Education – Didouche Mourad – and the National Agency for Entrepreneurship Support and Development in West Algiers

On October 29, 2024, the University of Continuous Education witnessed the signing of an agreement between the university and the National Agency for Entrepreneurship Support and Development. The agreement was signed by Professor Yahia Djafari, Rector of the University of Continuous Education, and Mr. Adel Rabehi, Director of the Agency’s provincial branch for West Algiers.
This collaboration aims to enhance the Entrepreneurship Development Center established at the university. Both parties will work closely to ensure the smooth implementation of the agreement and to oversee the annual joint program of various activities planned under this partnership.
In his welcoming address, the university rector provided a comprehensive overview of the university’s facilities, academic and practical capabilities, and the significance of the Entrepreneurship Development Center in supporting and training students. He highlighted the center’s role in fostering an entrepreneurial spirit among students and graduates. He also reviewed the university’s past entrepreneurial activities, including seminars, exhibitions, and study days, emphasizing that this agreement aims to assist students in creating their own startups or small businesses.
As a nationally present institution, the University of Continuous Education is well-known for its openness to the socio-economic environment. It has previously undertaken mandatory training, demand-based training, and skill improvement for various sectors, and it remains committed to lifelong learning. The university welcomes individuals of all ages—from 17 to 80—and from diverse sectors across all provinces, making it a suitable environment for fostering entrepreneurship and small businesses.
The university hosts an entrepreneurship platform, and in the last academic year, 54 graduation projects were dedicated to startups, with 21 of these projects approved as startup ventures. Five of these ventures received the “Label” designation, and other projects are currently under consideration. Additionally, the university’s business incubator holds two patents.
Mr. Adel Rabehi, Director of the Provincial Agency for Entrepreneurship Support and Development for West Algiers, affirmed the agency’s commitment to collaborating with the university. He emphasized the importance of organizing, guiding, and leveraging the energy of students and graduates to enter the field of entrepreneurship. The agency will work through the Entrepreneurship Development Center to promote entrepreneurial initiatives within the university environment, and it will also support and finance project holders through the agency.
