In a festive atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and ambition, the University of Continuous Education – Entrepreneurship Development Center hosted the closing ceremony of the first entrepreneurship training session on the morning of Monday, February 24, 2025. The event was attended by a select group of professors, students, as well as several academic and economic figures.

This session was organized as part of the university’s efforts to promote an entrepreneurial culture among university youth by equipping them with the essential knowledge and skills needed to confidently and competently enter the world of entrepreneurship. The 17 participants, who formed the first cohort, received intensive training covering various aspects of project creation and management, along with practical workshops and guidance from field experts.

The occasion coincided with Algeria’s celebration of the anniversary of the nationalization of hydrocarbons, a historic event that solidified the country’s economic sovereignty. It also aligned with the 65th anniversary of the founding of the General Union of Algerian Workers, lending the event a special symbolism that underscores the importance of investing in youth and empowering them to contribute effectively to the national economy.

In a speech delivered on behalf of Prof. Yahia Djaffari, Rector of the University of Continuous Education – Didouche Mourad, Prof. Saâd Boulahia, Deputy Rector in charge of Pedagogy, emphasized that this session is merely the first step in a series of initiatives aimed at supporting young entrepreneurs and providing them with a stimulating environment. She also highlighted the ongoing collaboration between the university and the National Agency for the Support and Development of Entrepreneurship (NESDA), reflecting the commitment of both institutions to fostering innovation and supporting emerging projects.

For her part, Prof. Djaouia Benkassmi, Director of the Entrepreneurship Development Center, emphasized during the ceremony the importance of entrepreneurship as a strategic choice for diversifying the national economy and encouraging innovation among youth. This sentiment was echoed by Prof. Taleb Shahinaz, National Coordinator of Entrepreneurship Development Centers under the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Mr. Rabhi Adel, Director of the Wilaya Agency for the Support and Development of Entrepreneurship. Both expressed their gratitude to the University of Continuous Education – Didouche Mourad, led by Prof. Yahia Djaffari, for the support provided to ensure the success of this training session, which was described as successful on all levels.

During the ceremony, training certificates were distributed to the participants in recognition of their efforts and commitment throughout the session.

At the conclusion of the event, the organizers expressed their hope to continue these efforts by organizing new sessions in the future, contributing to empowering Algerian youth to enter the business world with strong skills and a clear vision.

It is worth noting that this initiative is part of a national strategy aimed at encouraging the spirit of entrepreneurship and creativity among youth, as one of the key drivers for achieving sustainable economic and social development in Algeria.
