Study Day on Entrepreneurship: « Entrepreneurial Aspirations in University Entrepreneurship »

   The University of Continuous Education concluded its National Entrepreneurship Week with a study day titled « Entrepreneurial Aspirations in University Entrepreneurship. » The event, held at the university headquarters in Dely Ibrahim during Global Entrepreneurship Week (November 18–24, 2024), featured significant participation from faculty, students, and stakeholders across various sectors.

   The initiative aimed to instill an entrepreneurial mindset among students, enabling them to transform innovative ideas into market-ready projects. It also sought to prepare future entrepreneurs to drive sustainable development and economic diversification beyond hydrocarbons.

   Professor Ahmed Mir, head of the National Committee for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Ministry of Higher Education, praised UCE as a leader in entrepreneurship and highlighted the Ministry’s focus on developing entrepreneurial universities. Dr. Yahia Djafari, UCE’s Rector, emphasized the university’s broad reach across 58 provinces with over 70,000 students, positioning it as a key player in fostering innovation.

   Experts delivered insightful presentations on project training, mentorship, and funding. Mr. Rebahi Adel from the National Agency for Entrepreneurship Support detailed how students can access resources. Discussions also covered intellectual property protection and practical guidance for obtaining commercial registrations for startups.

The event showcased several student-led startups, including:

   Bokz-up: A digital application by Najla Touati (El-Tarf Center).

   Healthcare Services and EV Charger Projects: By Rima Baghdad (Mostaganem Center).

   Biodiesel Production from Cooking Oil: By Khadidja Maiza (Mostaganem Center).

   Other innovative projects from Annaba and other centers were also displayed.

   The week-long activities will conclude with an awareness campaign to further promote entrepreneurial culture within the academic environment.
