Media and Communication Unit<\/strong><\/p>

Professor Kamel Baddari, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, made an inspection visit to the University of Continuous Education, where he was received by the university’s rector, Mr. Yahia Jaafari, along with other university officials and faculty members. The minister and his accompanying delegation began their visit by observing the office responsible for distributing RFID student cards to new students, as well as the Big Data Center (DATA CENTER), where they received detailed explanations about the center\u2019s operations and its exceptional capabilities in managing the distance learning system.<\/p>

In his welcome speech, the rector of the University of Continuous Education highlighted the university\u2019s significant developments, noting that the institution is expected to enroll 90,000 students this academic year across various disciplines and levels. It is worth mentioning that these students have registered through the Progress platform, and the registration process is ongoing for students advancing to higher levels without any paperwork. Classes are set to begin on September 24, 2024, as scheduled by the supervising ministry.<\/p>

The Minister of Higher Education received extensive explanations regarding the distance learning platforms adopted by the university, which follow the hybrid learning model. This year, the university plans to support the system with evening classes as part of what is known as enhanced in-person distance learning.<\/p>

In his speech, the minister emphasized the importance of dynamic educational platforms that provide what he referred to as \u00ab\u00a0mobile learning,\u00a0\u00bb as well as a fair and just framework for evaluating students’ work. He also stressed the need for the university\u2019s curricula to align with international programs to facilitate real-world academic exchange between Algerian and foreign students, underscoring the importance of managing relationships between Algerian universities and their international counterparts.<\/p>

The minister further insisted that the University of Continuous Education must undergo deep reforms, especially as it now takes on the role of both an open university and a lifelong learning institution. He emphasized the importance of strengthening the university’s economic role and enabling its graduates to enter the economic sector by proposing economic projects. Since the University of Continuous Education is an open university and dedicated to lifelong learning, it must equip its graduates with vocational skills and professionalism by developing programs to enhance students’ skills.
