On Tuesday, September 24, 2024, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Kamel Baddari, oversaw the official opening of the 2024-2025 academic year from the Higher School of Cybersecurity in Sidi Abdallah. The event was attended by the Rector of the University of Continuous Education, Prof. Yahia Jafari, university directors from across the country, the Governor of Algiers, state officials, and social partners. The opening ceremony took place both in-person and via remote video conferencing.<\/p>\n

On this occasion, the Minister delivered an inaugural lecture titled \u00ab\u00a0The Algerian University: A Maker of Possibilities,\u00a0\u00bb during which he emphasized the importance of enhancing digital leadership, entrepreneurship, innovation, distance learning, and improving student life to achieve a university of empowerment. He stressed that students today represent emerging Algeria, and that justice, equity, and improving the quality of scientific research in universities have become key sectoral objectives.<\/p>\n

The Minister also highlighted that the challenges facing universities today include diversifying educational services, such as offering dual degrees, promoting and developing science, technology, and mathematics\u2014fields that are the foundation of knowledge and where science meets the economic market. He noted that universities must be the incubator of all development and innovation, supporting national development through scientific and research-based solutions to enhance both the economic capacities of the university and the nation.<\/p>\n
